Here at our shop we typically make use of our 8 strand 30 and 40# Toro Tamer hollow braid for serving. Reason for us using that line is hollow, lying down better than a solid, smoother at 8 strands, and a tad stronger. We bump up to 40# for the serving thread when we work with lines of 100# or greater.
